Richard's Fine Woodworking - This is a reproduction of a John Goddard tall clock case 1765-1770. It is in two sections:the upper section the hood has a molded scrolled pediment that terminates in rosettes with a central carved flaming fluted urn with fluted plinth is all supported by four fluted columns which flank a central door with the clock face behind it, thu upper section of the central molding comes apart at the top of the cove; the lower section is topped by a cove molding with another small molding below it, thecentral door has a blocked panelcarved with a lobed shell flanked by fluted quarter columns with large mid-molding above a blocked panel carved with a lobbed shell flanked by beveled sides above a base molding on ogee bracket feet. This tall clock case is made from walnut with poplar back. Height 94.5" Width 23" depth 13.5" Price $18,ooo not including workings
